Awesome P.E

In Te Maunga and Te Ngahere we have been doing P.E rotations. We had to get in our house groups and line up. Then we had to go with one teacher that would do a different activity. We had a few different activities to do. We could do Skills, Soccer, Touch or Netball. I really enjoyed doing these PE activity and I thought it was very fun. Basically for the skills activity we were just doing some fun and activities like getting in a circle and practising throwing and catching balls when we did a hole loop we stepped back a bit and repeated the cycle.

Have you done P.E.?

The Awesome Narrative

In Te Ngahere we have been doing narrative writing. We had to write a story that was made up about anything we want. I wrote about a haunted house I still haven't finished but it is really fun to do. First we had to write a plan for out narrative when we were writing we could not redo our plan. We had to make sure we had a good amount of detail in our narrative writing. I did a lot of writing and I found my writing very fun to read. Also when the writing time was over we had to go to a buddy and share our writing.

Have you done a narrative link for my writing here

super cyber smart

In Te Ngahere we have been doing a fun thing called cyber smart. For this activity we had to make a google drawing and then use the shapes tool to make fish. We made fish because we were learning to use the shapes to explain something in a fun and creative way I found this activity really interesting and fun because we were doing something better than work. I learnt the cool things I can

make with one tool. I think this activity was very fun

I hope we could do it again. I really did well in making the fish.

Have you done this activity?

The Excellent Epro8

In Te Ngahere we have been doing a thing called Epro8. Epro8 is all about measurement. The last Epro8 we had to try make a catapult with 30 sticks, 30 rubber bands, some tape, a piece of a4 and a3 pieces of paper. For this we had to watch a video teaching us about different types of energy. We needed to use two types of energy potential energy and kinetic energy. Potential energy is when all the energy is stored inside the energy, kinetic energy is when all the energy moves out. What we did well was planning it. What we didn’t do well was listening to everyone's ideas or trying them. I dont think that I helped much so i’ll do that next time.

Have you done Epro8?

Confusing Test

In Te Ngahere the teachers gave us a reading test to teach us to read instructions carefully. We had a piece of paper and we couldn’t look at it. We had four minutes to read as much of the instructions as we could. We had all sorts of things to do. The first thing we had to do was read each sentence carefully before doing anything after that. We had to do things like call out loudly our first name, or we had to draw squares on our paper. But then the last thing we had to do said, after reading each thing carefully only do sentence one and two. We did it wrong because we only read a little bit and zoomed on and did everything else. Then we didn’t know we had to only do number one and two because we didn’t read the instructions carefully. When we read the last question we all kinda laughed. next time I will read it carefully.

Do you think you could do this test?

Fun Facts

This week in Te Ngahere we have been learning about the coastal seas. We watched a video about the coastal seas by David Attenborough. We had to find at least 10 facts about the coastal seas. It was very interesting and easy because it was 49 mins long. After that we had to make a DLO about it. My facts where,Dolphins use sonar to look for prey using echolocation,Seagrass takes loads of carbon dioxide and they capture it, sharks mostly hunt in the darkness, when the sea is warm the coral will lose food and die,  in the sea, giant kelp can grow up to 50 meters tall ,sea urchins are otters favorite meal . Sea urchins are eaten by wrasse. fish females lay eggs on the sea grass, in coastal seas jellyfish are taking over the seas, manta rays wings can grow up to 7m.

Have you watched David Attenborough?

Super Smart Surfing

This week in Te Ngahere we have been learning about key word searches. For this task we had to make a copy of a Google slide presentation and do what the slide presentation says.  We had four words and we had to highlight the key words and we couldn't use how or what. After that we had to go on to the next slide. For this we had to get the key words from the last slide and type them on Google. After that we had to get the links from there and link the key words. Next we had to make our own question and look for the key words and link that. I find keyword searches very easy because when you use how in your search it grabs everything that has how in it. But in keyword searches you get the answer you want.

Have you heard of keyword searches?
