Fun Facts

This week in Te Ngahere we have been learning about the coastal seas. We watched a video about the coastal seas by David Attenborough. We had to find at least 10 facts about the coastal seas. It was very interesting and easy because it was 49 mins long. After that we had to make a DLO about it. My facts where,Dolphins use sonar to look for prey using echolocation,Seagrass takes loads of carbon dioxide and they capture it, sharks mostly hunt in the darkness, when the sea is warm the coral will lose food and die,  in the sea, giant kelp can grow up to 50 meters tall ,sea urchins are otters favorite meal . Sea urchins are eaten by wrasse. fish females lay eggs on the sea grass, in coastal seas jellyfish are taking over the seas, manta rays wings can grow up to 7m.

Super Smart Surfing

This week in Te Ngahere we have been learning about key word searches. For this task we had to make a copy of a Google slide presentation and do what the slide presentation says.  We had four words and we had to highlight the key words and we couldn't use how or what. After that we had to go on to the next slide. For this we had to get the key words from the last slide and type them on Google. After that we had to get the links from there and link the key words. Next we had to make our own question and look for the key words and link that. I find keyword searches very easy because when you use how in your search it grabs everything that has how in it. But in keyword searches you get the answer you want.

Have you heard of keyword searches?

Terrific Te Reo

In Te Ngahere we have been learning how to pronounce Maori words properly. We had to go on a site called Education Perfect. We had options to choose from, we could do the Maori alphabet, greetings and others. We had to start with the Maori vowels then work our way up. Later we had to make a DLO about it. For this we had to go on Education Perfect and make a screencastify about us saying the Maori alphabet, greetings in Maori and then place names. I found this very easy because all we had to do was do a screencastify and put it on a DLO.
