Super Smart Surfing

 This week in Te Ngahere we have been learning about key word searches. For this task we had to make a copy of a Google slide presentation and do what the slide presentation says.  We had four words and we had to highlight the key words and we couldn't use how or what. After that we had to go on to the next slide. For this we had to get the key words from the last slide and type them on Google. After that we had to get the links from there and link the key words. Next we had to make our own question and look for the key words and link that. I find keyword searches very easy because when you use how in your search it grabs everything that has how in it. But in keyword searches you get the answer you want.

Terrific Te Reo

 In Te Ngahere we have been learning how to pronounce Maori words properly. We had to go on a site called Education Perfect.We had options to choose from, we could do the Maori alphabet, greetings and others. We had to start with the Maori vowels then work our way up. Later we had to make a DLO about it. For this we had to go on Education Perfect and make a screencastify about us saying the Maori alphabet, greetings in Maori and then place names. I found this very easy because all we had to do was do a screencastify and put it on a DLO.

Super Swimming

 In Te Ngahere we have been learning a bit of swimming. Our pool was broken so we had to take a ferry to Russell School. The ferry took about an half an hour. When we got there we had to walk all the way to Russell School. At Russell School their where two pools one was deep and one was shallow very shallow. We had the confident people go in the deep pool and the people that struggle or aren't comfortable in the deep end in the shallow pool. I had to go in to the shallow pool we had to practice gliding in the water. The water was very cold. I got out of the pool because it was too cold. It was really fun when we went back it was lunch it was a fun day and I enjoyed it.

 This week in Te Ngahere we have been doing a fun thing called task masters. We had a task to do and the team that was the best won. We also came up with names for our teams my team's name was task cuzies. In my group their was Manaaki,Ebony and Me. for the first task we had to find or make a nice present for the teacher. My team gave the teacher a bracelet. We came 3rd and the team that came first made a pies of paper that said whea best and I can see why they would be 1st. The second task the next day was their was a picture outside and there was two runners and a drawer we had to the runners had to go outside and look at the picture then tell the drawer. The drawer could not go anywhere and the runners can't touch the paper. This task was hard because everyone was yelling at me. the end of the day came and then we had to do it again the next day it was a bit easy at the start but then they started yelling again it was so stressful then it was over it was a bit fun and I enjoyed  it.

The Terrific Food Web

 In Te Ngahere we have been learning about the food web for our Ngahere. We had 10 pictures and had to put them in order to make a food web. Then we had to put arrows pointing to what animal eats it. The arrows on my teacher's food web are different colors because it’s easy to see because every animal that gets eaten by an animal is one color arrow. The arrows are pointing to what animal eats it because the energy goes to the other animal that is called an energy transfer. A food web is when you show what eats what animal and what that animal eats kind of in a chain. My food web is not right because I should've colored the arrows that go to one animal and different colors to a different animal. Also my arrows are pointing the wrong direction. Lastly I dont have enough arrows.

The Scary Tsunami

 

In The whole Bay Of Islands their was almost a tsunami I was very terrified we had to walk up a big hill which made me very tired. Then the alarm went off. I felt very scared I even cried. We stayed up the hill for about 4 1/2 hours. We watched the ripples in the water. Later in the day some people came with our bags. We ate some food from our lunch boxes and then some people came with some sausages they were very spicy. Gina was also doing quizzes about movies. Then I think it was over I went down with my nana I told my class where I was and lied on the couch. I was a bit angry that I didn't see the tsunami it would have been interesting to watch but not really.

Extremely Helpful Tips on the Kawa of Care

 

In Te Ngahere we have been learning about the kawa of care. We had to make a DLO, a slide presentation or a powtoon about it.

 I made an animation about the kawa of care. the rules of the kawa of care are. Do not drink at your chromebook. Do not hold your chromebook with one hand. Charge in a place where no one will walk. Don’t walk with the lid up.
